Our Lawful Bases

We normally process information under one or more of the following lawful bases:

Contract — where processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract or to provide the repair service you have requested.

Legal obligation — where information must be retained or processed to comply with tax, accounting, consumer, regulatory or other legal requirements.

Legitimate interests — where reasonably necessary for purposes such as operating and protecting our business, handling disputes, maintaining appropriate repair records and improving our services, where those interests do not override your rights.

Consent — where consent is legally required, such as certain optional marketing or non-essential tracking technologies.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Who We Share Information With

Where reasonably necessary, personal information may be shared with service providers such as:

  • our website and hosting provider;

  • email and communications providers;

  • payment-processing providers;

  • accounting/bookkeeping providers;

We only provide third parties with information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

We do not sell customer personal information.

Wix

Our website is hosted using Wix.

Wix may process technical and other information in connection with operating and securing the website.

International Transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will use appropriate safeguards where required by UK data-protection law.

How Long We Keep Information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.

As a general guide:

Unconverted enquiries: normally up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact.

Repair, quotation and customer-service records: normally up to 6 years where reasonably required for contract, legal or dispute records.

Accounting and transaction records: for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.

Device passwords/PINs supplied for testing: only as long as reasonably necessary to complete testing, and normally deleted once they are no longer required.

Marketing information: until you unsubscribe or we otherwise determine it should no longer be retained.

Cookie information: according to the retention periods described in our Cookie Policy or cookie-preference system.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.

Access to customer information is restricted to people and service providers who reasonably require it.

No internet-based or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Information Stored on Customer Devices

A device sent for repair may contain personal information that is not otherwise supplied directly to us.

We will not intentionally browse or access personal content unless it is reasonably necessary for the requested diagnosis, repair or testing.

Customers should remove or back up confidential information where reasonably possible before sending a device.

Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to:

  • obtain a copy of your personal information;

  • correct inaccurate information;

  • request deletion;

  • restrict certain processing;

  • object to certain processing;

  • receive certain information in a portable format; and

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.

To exercise a right, contact foxtechrepairs@outlook.com.

Marketing

We will not treat agreement to repair Terms & Conditions as consent to unrelated electronic marketing.

Where consent is required for electronic marketing, it will be requested separately.

You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.

Automated Decision-Making

We do not currently make decisions about customers solely through automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Complaints About Personal Information

Please contact us first if you have concerns about how we handle your personal information.

You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data-protection regulator.
