Repair Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS SITE

1. Overview

These Terms & Conditions govern all diagnostic, repair, and related services provided by Fox Tech Repairs ("Fox Tech Repairs", "we", "us", or "our").

By submitting a device to us for inspection, diagnosis, repair, or any related service, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services

Fox Tech Repairs provides mail-in diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and related services for consumer electronic devices including, but not limited to:

  • Smartphones

  • Tablets

  • Laptops

  • Desktop computers

  • Gaming consoles

  • Other consumer electronics

All services are subject to inspection, diagnosis, technician assessment, and parts availability.

We reserve the right to refuse service where a device is unsafe, illegally modified, excessively damaged, contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable for repair.

3. Customer Declarations

By submitting a device, you confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner of the device or have authority from the owner to request repairs.

  • The device does not contain illegal content.

  • Any activation locks, account locks, or security restrictions have been removed where required for testing.

  • You have backed up all important data prior to shipping the device.

  • The information you provide regarding the fault is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4. Diagnostic Process

Upon receipt of your device, we will carry out an inspection and diagnostic assessment.

Following diagnosis, we may:

  • Proceed with an agreed repair.

  • Provide a quotation for approval.

  • Determine that repair is not economically viable.

  • Determine that repair is not technically possible.

Additional faults may become apparent during repair. Where additional chargeable work is required, we will seek approval before proceeding.

5. Bench Fee

A non-refundable bench fee of £25 may apply where:

  • A diagnostic inspection is requested.

  • A repair quotation is provided but declined by the customer.

  • The customer cancels the repair after diagnosis has commenced.

  • The device is found to be beyond economical repair.

The bench fee covers technician time, testing, fault finding, and administrative costs.

The bench fee will be waived where Fox Tech Repairs proceeds with and completes a paid repair.

6. No Fix, No Fee Policy

Where a repair has been authorised and Fox Tech Repairs is unable to rectify the originally diagnosed fault, no repair labour charge will apply.

This policy does not include:

  • Bench fees.

  • Return shipping costs where applicable.

  • Costs already incurred with customer approval.

  • Devices where repair work is halted due to newly discovered faults that the customer declines to address.

"No Fix, No Fee" applies only to the agreed repair fault and does not guarantee restoration of all device functions.

7. Parts and Components

Repairs may utilise:

  • Original manufacturer parts

  • OEM-equivalent parts

  • Refurbished parts

  • Reclaimed parts

  • Compatible aftermarket parts

Part selection may depend on availability, cost, and repair requirements.

We reserve the right to substitute equivalent components where appropriate.

8. Liquid Damage and Severe Damage Repairs

Devices affected by:

  • Liquid ingress

  • Corrosion

  • Electrical surges

  • Impact damage

  • Previous repair attempts

may contain hidden faults that are not immediately visible.

While we may successfully repair the reported issue, we cannot guarantee long-term reliability of devices with such damage.

Additional failures may occur after repair due to pre-existing conditions beyond our control.

9. Data & Privacy

Customers are solely responsible for backing up all data before submitting devices.

Fox Tech Repairs shall not be liable for:

  • Data loss

  • Data corruption

  • Loss of software licences

  • Loss of accounts or settings

Repair procedures may require software reinstallation, firmware updates, storage replacement, factory resets, or testing processes that could result in data loss.

We will only access customer data where reasonably necessary to verify functionality or complete the repair.

10. Passwords and Device Access

Where necessary, customers may be required to provide passwords, PINs, passcodes, or disable security features to enable testing.

Failure to provide required access credentials may prevent us from confirming successful repair completion.

11. Shipping

Customer-to-Fox Tech Repairs Shipping

Customers are responsible for:

  • Secure packaging

  • Correct addressing

  • Adequate shipping protection

Risk of loss or damage remains with the customer until the device is received by Fox Tech Repairs.

Return Shipping

Free return shipping will be provided where:

  • A repair has been successfully completed.

  • A repair attempt has been made and the device is deemed unrepairable.

Return shipping charges may apply where:

  • The customer declines a quotation.

  • The customer cancels the repair.

  • The customer requests the device to be returned without repair.

12. Turnaround Times

Estimated repair times are provided for guidance only.

Repair times may be affected by:

  • Parts availability

  • Supplier delays

  • Shipping delays

  • Complexity of faults

  • Seasonal workload

Fox Tech Repairs shall not be liable for losses arising from repair delays.

13. Warranty

Completed repairs are covered by a limited 90-day warranty from the date the repaired device is delivered to the customer.

The warranty covers:

  • Defects in parts supplied by Fox Tech Repairs.

  • Faults directly related to the repair performed.

  • Workmanship associated with the repair.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage.

  • Physical damage.

  • Liquid damage.

  • Electrical surges.

  • Unauthorised repair attempts.

  • Software issues.

  • Malware.

  • User misuse.

  • New or unrelated faults.

  • General wear and tear.

Warranty claims must be reported within the warranty period.

14. Limitation of Liability

Fox Tech Repairs will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing repair services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect losses.

  • Consequential losses.

  • Loss of profits.

  • Loss of business.

  • Loss of data.

  • Loss of use.

  • Loss of opportunity.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant repair service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

15. Payment

Full payment must be received before the repaired device is returned unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Fox Tech Repairs reserves the right to retain possession of any device until all outstanding charges have been settled.

16. Unclaimed Devices

Where a device remains unpaid, unclaimed, or where the customer fails to respond to communication attempts for a period exceeding 90 days following notification, Fox Tech Repairs may:

  • Dispose of the device.

  • Recycle the device.

  • Sell the device to recover costs.

Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the customer before any such action is taken.

17. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall affect any statutory rights available to consumers under applicable United Kingdom consumer protection legislation.

18. Amendments

Fox Tech Repairs reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.

The version applicable to a repair will be the version in force at the date the device is received.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
